SES-Tech delivered the S-Hybrid-R system to two 36 m hybrid power fishing boats, named Jiqinyu 02991/02992 in 2020. The system is composed of a 580.6 kWh battery, a 200 kW propulsion/generation power and a 150 kW ship’s power supply.

The S-Hybrid-R system exhibits flexible operating modes, allowing PTO and PTH operation while charging or discharging the battery when required. When the vessel is in the sea-going mode, the ship’s network is supplied by the shaft machine in the PTO mode to avoid the usage of the auxiliary generator set. When the vessel is in the fishing mode, the propulsion power and the ship’s network come from the battery to achieve 100% green operation. ‘The is the most silent fishing boat that I have ever faced’, claimed by Mr Zhang, who is the captain of Jiqinyu 02991.
